History of Guitar

The industry of music is so vast that the developments and experiments never cease. The history of the guitar has always been so mysterious and complicated. It has always been so difficult to track the origin of the guitar due to a lack of records. Some say that it first appeared in the 12th century in Spain, but some say it is a descendant of kithara (Greek word). Its name was derived from a Spanish name, Guitarra Latina. It was usually referred to as chordophones.

A relatively recent development in this field was the division of it into two types, LUTE AND VIHUELA.

The one name different which helped in designing the new age guitar was done by Antonino Jurado. He thought of combining the best elements of the two guitars he saw. The length of the neck, changes in body size, and Wooden structures were some changes that were made.

The guitar is lightweight compared to some other instruments, but playing guitar could complicate its music indulgence and play.

The twist of fortune happened in the twentieth century when the guitar became widespread and easy to learn. It was easily played and accepted across the globe. Guitar replaced the old strings with some better quality ones, which were more accessible with the hand.

Then came in the list the development of an electric guitar. It was firstly seen in the late 1930s.

The development led to another one which consisted of two different types of the same. It helped in playing multiple genres

After all these stages, the guitar has been made much sleeker with much more durability. Guitar, as we know, Makers can now customize it! This instrument has been modern throughout, with so many developments happening.   Some people even say that it’s so easy to make that it could be done with a few household items.

This has been the cycle of evolution for guitar. Throughout, the popularity of the guitar is something that never surprisingly changed. It still is the center of the music industry. From folk music to heavy metal, this instrument can play it all. The youngsters who begin learning music prefer guitar due to its effortless style. This instrument is one of the most played across the globe and is very well recognized. The history has some 4000 variations, but we have a few records.

The origin, though, is hard to track. We go ahead with what we have and set our musical caps on while striking the cords we know of.
